Suncatcher

Suncatcher

Materials:
1 sheet Shrink Art Plastic (option: clear 2 liter bottle)
Scissors
Black permanent pen (Sharpie)
Child`s drawing of fish, bird, etc.
Hole punch (or large needle or pin to make hole for hanging)
Glass stain, colors of your choice
Paint brushes
Masking tape & heavy cardboard
12″ piece of fishing line to make hanger (may use button/carpet thread)
*To make a substitute glass stain add food color to any white craft glue that dries clear. It will dry slightly darker, give transparent color and adhere to plastic.*

Instructions:
Draw your picture or trace a picture from a coloring book or something similar on a piece of paper. Place the Shrink Art Plastic over the picture (if using the 2 liter bottle cut around at shoulder and base and then from top to bottom so when spread it will form a rectangle. The plastic will retain its curve so should be used for a picture with action where the curve can be included in the design, like a butterfly.) Tape pattern to cardboard then tape plastic over pattern with masking tape. Trace all lines with the Sharpie pen, paint the areas with glass stain or glue paint and allow to dry. When dry remove tape and cut out picture. Make a hole to hang and thread fishing line through the hole and tie with overhand knot.
